The ECOO 2018 will be held in the Czech Republic 9-12 July 2018
Libellules sur nénupharsWe have started to prepare the organization of the congress.

Short basic information:
– Place of Congress: Brno (the second largest city in the Czech Republic).
– Organisation: Mendel University in Brno, with cooperation University of Ostrava, Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic.
– Transport to CZ: best by plane to Vienna (and by bus to Brno) or to Prague (and by bus to Brno), Brno lies on the main highway D1 from Prague to Bratislava or Wien.

Mid Congress Field Trip(s)
To pannonian lowland (50 km southernwards from Brno) for observing mediterannean species – stable population of Coenagrion scitulum, Epitheca bimaculata, Crocothemis erythraea, Gomphus flavipes etc. Second place (60km easternwards from Brno) – northermost population of Cordulegaster heros in the uphills of Carpathian Mts., Cordulegaster bidentata, Ophiogomphus cecilia

Post Congress Field Trip 13-18 July 2018
We visit the hercynic mountains, the Hrubý Jeseník Mts. with population of Somatochlora alpestris, S.arctica, Aeshna subarctica, Aeshna juncea, Leucorrhiunia dubia etc. Lowland of Odra river with three Gomphids and the Carpatian Mts. – with population of Cordulegaster bidentata.

Post Congress Trip Report

above-the-arctic-circle_trip-reportThree field trips were organised during and after the European Congress on Odonatology (ECOO) in Tyringe, Skåne, Sweden July 11-14 2016. The Mid Congress Field Trip was included in the symposium. The two Post Congress Field Trips were optional and started immediately after the symposium. The Mid Congress Field Trip went to the area around Blistorp in Skåne and lasted for a day. One of the Post Congress Field Trips went to the South Eastern Provinces 15-20/7.

The third trip went above the Arctic Circle and was arranged by Magnus Billqvist and Ola Elleström. That trip is the subject for this report. Download it below.
